Hamilton Residence
9916 North 30th Circle
February 2005 marked the completion of the house that is sited high to provide a wintertime view of the river. Site grading was manipulated so the height of the residence doesn't overwhelm as guests approach in the circle. Side loading garages are not visible from the front of the residence. Facilitating an open feeling, the "basement" became a lower level with communicating spaces to both the main level and the upper level. 68 windows were positioned throughout the residence providing views to the outside no matter the location. Site landscaping will be completed this spring.
Design goals for the project were to create a modern residence for a 4-person family with open spaces allowing separation without isolation. They wanted to take advantage of the wooded location with wintertime view of Missouri River by preserving existing trees to the extent possible and maintain a portion of the site in a natural state. They also wanted to utilize materials/colors to blend and compliment surroundings.
