The Elm Houseis located in a unique high-density, modern, ecological community, adjacent to a nature preserve. The goal was to integrate this production home with nature as well as with homes in the surrounding community.
To accomplish this, contemporary details are coupled with eco-friendly design. A green roof improves insulation, reduces storm water run off, and integrates the home with its surroundings. Three deck spaces encourage homeowners to experience and enjoy the natural setting. Sustainable materials are used throughout the home: bamboo wood floors, polished concrete floors, compact fluorescent light bulbs, radiant floor heating,and Low-E 1” insulated glass.
Through excellent attention to detail, the Elm House successfully takes advantage of the natural setting and provides homeowners with a modern design focused on clean, minimal open space.
